Three children were removed from the care of their mother when they were found in a tiny room, dirty and hungry. *Natalie was 5 years old, and the twins 2 years old. During the day, *Natalie spent most of her time without adult supervision on the street. They were placed in cluster foster care while the investigation was underway, and we had to work hard to convince *Natalie that she was not responsible for caring for her brothers – that she herself needed to be cared for. During this time their mother passed away, and their father moved to an unknown address and makes no attempt to contact them.
